Flowerfield Township Meeting Minutes

 FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
November 10, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Clerk Sally J. Hackenberg, Supervisor Carroll Parmeter was absent.  There were four board members present, Pam Altimus, Paul Williams, Ron Shaver and Sally Hackenberg.  There were also four visitors present. 

ADDITIONS
None were added

AGENDA
Ron Shaver made the motion to accept the Agenda, seconded by Paul Williams, motion carried.

BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS
The Clerk stated that we had a good turn out at the General Election, seven hundred and fifty six voters turned out, the election inspectors did not get home until midnight.

MINUTES
Paul made the motion to approve the minutes of the October 6th, 2008 board meeting, seconded by Ron Shaver, motion carried.

Pam made the motion to accept the October 6, 2008 Election Inspector meeting, seconded by Sally, motion carried.

SPECIAL GUESTS
The new Township Clerk Teresa Ives and Trustee Jim Griffith were both present at the meeting.

CORRESPONDENCE
It was noted that there will be a Road Commission meeting held on Nov. 13th at 2:00 p.m.

There will be a MTA meeting held at Kalamazoo on Dec. 18th, Ron Shaver made a motion to send Teresa and Jim if they wanted to go, seconded by Sally, motion carried.

REPORTS
Assessor-Shalice noted the the cost of living raised to 4.4%, the highest it has ever been.  This means that the taxable value will raise and increase property taxes 4.4%.
By March Shalice would like the board to adopt an Income Guideline.

Rural Inspection-Tony was not present.

Planning Commission-Planning Commission Chairman Greg Hamlink was present to inform the board about the meeting held in October concerning the presentation of the new Master Plan.  He stated that the Master Plan is still in the process of getting the corrections made at that meeting and has to get back with Bob Toland as soon as Bob returns from his vacation.

Ron Shaver made the motion to purchase Planning Commission Guide books and one Decision Making book from MTA, seconded by Paul with a roll call vote as follows; Pam-yes, Sally-yes, Paul-yes and Ron-yes.

NEW BUSINESS
None

BUDGET AMENDMENT
Sally made the motion to amend the Heating budget by $219.10 and to be taken from the Building Main. budget, seconded by Paul, motion carried.
 
APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURES
Paul made the motion to approve expenditures 3072 thru 3107, Pam seconded, motion carried.

ADJOURNMENT
Paul made the motion to adjourn, Pam seconded, motion carried, with the meeting adjourning at 7:50p.m.

Immediately after the meeting all the new officers were swore in except Carroll Parmeter who was sick.

The new Clerk is Teresa Ives, new Trustee Jim Griffith, and returning to office is  Trustee Ron Shaver, Treasurer Pam Altimus and Supervisor Carroll Parmeter.
