FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
OCTOBER 2, 2006
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Carroll Parmeter at 7:00 p.m. Pam Altimus, Paul Williams, Ron Shaver, Carroll Parmeter and Sally Hackenberg were all present. There were eleven visitors present.
ADDITIONS
A member of the PCB needs to be on the Zoning Board of Appeals.
AGENDA
Ron made the motion to approve the Agenda, seconded by Paul, motion carried.
MINUTES
Ron made the motion to approve the Sept 5, 2006 mtg minutes, seconded by Pam motion carried.
SPECIAL GUESTS
Rich Shaffer was present and told us about what was going on in Lansing concerning Medicaid reform and also complimented us on how nice our hall looks and for keeping it up as our township hall.
CORRESPONDENCE
Pam informed the board about a MTA Tax meeting Nov 1 that she would like to attend. Ron made the motion for her to attend, seconded by Paul with a roll call vote as follows; Ron-yes, Paul-yes, Pam-yes, Sally-yes and Carroll-yes.
REPORTS
Assessor-Shalice does not have her ag study report yet from Land Resouce. We currently have 1089 parcels in our township.
Rural Inspection-Charlie stated that Keith Scott has finally gotten his land division from the township.
PCB-Toben and Ron informed the board that the PCB sent the auctioneers a letter concerning the sale of Carl and Jessica Barth’s property. The letter stated that the ten acres parcels are not buildable lots and the PCB felt that the wording on the sale bill was misleading. It would have to pass two of the five criteria before it could be released as a buildable lot from the township PCB.
Sexton-Bill stated that it has slowed down.
OLD BUSINESS
Municipal Ordinance update was given by Doug stating about the court hearing last week with Don Pastorick that Don agreed to have everything completed by Jan 7, 2007.
ORDINANCE #34
After much discussion concerning page four 19.06 General Grant of Power, it was stated by a planning commission member that 19.06 is according to state statue.
Carroll hereby RESOLVED to approve ORDINANCE #34-Zoning Ordinance Amendment to Zoning Ordinance #31, seconded by Paul with a roll call vote; Pam-yes, Ron-yes, Sally-yes, Paul-yes and Carroll-yes.
EXPENDITURES
Paul made the motion to approve expenditures 2404 thru 2425, seconded Pam, motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Pam made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Paul, motion carried with the meeting adjourning at 9:25 p.m.
The meeting in Nov. will be held on Nov. 13, 2006. The General Election is on Nov. 7, 2006.
